I am a New York native who grew up with a curiosity for people’s stories. Literature initially awoke this passion and led me to my first career as a high school English teacher in the New York City Public School system.
The relationships I developed through teaching were infinitely rewarding, but I soon realized that I was drawn more to students dealing with struggles and the every day pressures of life as an adolescent.
This interest led me back to school to study Social Work and then on to earn my clinical license! I continue to work in schools but now as a School Social Worker.
I am passionate about working with couples, individuals and young adults dealing with transition, relationship issues, and the struggles of meeting personal and societal expectations. I also feel privileged to support those grieving losses in their lives. I have Grief and Bereavement training with the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services and have run grief support groups for the past three years. I have studied Foundations in Family Therapy at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems and have some in Imago Relationship Therapy.
I am also passionate about Expressive Therapy and have experience with integrating therapeutic art and journey therapy into my work with others.
